Timeless in form and magical in nature, 'Tickled Pink' is a newly constructed beachfront mansion on Harbour Island, a place recognised by Forbes as "the Crown Jewel of the Caribbean". Perched high above the sea, resplendently dressed in hues that reflect the natural light and colours of The Bahamas, this incredible waterfront estate boasts a world of enchantment within, and with direct access to Harbour Island's famous Pink Sand Beach.
THE HOUSE
Arrival to the main house is via a tree-lined driveway to porte cochere. Across 8,500 sq. ft. living space, there are 9 bedrooms, 9.2 bathrooms and space for 18 guests. Designed in a style that evokes understated Caribbean elegance, the house is light, bright and airy, with the choice of materials lending to the feeling of being connected to its natural surroundings. Coral stone floors feature prominently throughout, as do shiplap walls and vaulted ceilings in common areas and several of the bedrooms. Of course, the star of the show are the incredible views enjoyed from virtually every room in the house.
The great room - found on the main level of the home - comprises the living and dining rooms and leads out to an expansive covered terrace with breathtaking views of the backyard and turquoise waters of The Bahamas. Back inside, the eat-in kitchen boasts top-of-the-line appliances, a large center island, a pass-through window to enjoy the water views and a walk-in pantry. Elsewhere on the main level are four bedrooms, including the primary suite boasting its own private terrace, spa-like bathroom and walk-in closet.
The downstairs level of the home contains another four bedrooms - all with ensuite bathrooms - as well as a den, games room and fully equipped gym. Each bedroom is incredibly well appointed, offering stunning views of the ocean and access to a covered terrace.
THE GROUNDS
The grounds are absolutely mesmerising. The natural stone deck gives way to an beautiful asymmetrical shaped heated infinity-edge pool and hot tub, with a nearby pool cabana that is great for entertaining and lounging. Beyond the pool is perhaps the piece de resistance of the entire property - a perfectly manicured garden - with coconut trees, garden chairs and a hammock - that leads to a winding pathway to the beach where the sand truly is pink. You can walk for miles on this gorgeous stretch of sand, go for a swim, or spend an afternoon sunbathing.
Back at the front of the property, there is a 2-car garage above which sits the guest cottage, with its own kitchen, sitting area, bedroom and balcony. At the other side of the property is another cabana, this one designed for al-fresco dining in a more intimate, protected setting. These vignettes are like little jewels sprinkled around the property, and this particular one boasts a mural by acclaimed Bahamian artist Angelika Wallace-Whitfield.
