Originally from Toronto, Canada, Maxine Hussey joined Damianos Sotheby’s International Realty in 2005 and was pivotal in transitioning the real estate firm from solely a family-owned business to a franchise bearing the globally-recognized Sotheby’s brand. A highly proactive and driven Chief Operating Officer, Maxine’s commitment to fostering professionalism and producing results has been integral in growing the luxury real estate firm from 20 team members in three offices to what is today is 50-plus team members in 11 offices in Nassau, Eleuthera, Abaco and Exuma.
Additionally, her solution-oriented mindset and service-driven management style encourages and supports personal and professional development among the company’s sales and support staff. As a result, Maxine has cultivated an efficient, high-performing team with very low turnover. Maxine’s love for learning and meeting new people spills over into her personal life in the form of travel. Over the years she has explored nearly every corner of the world from North America, the Caribbean and Europe to Australia, Southeast Asia and India. Maxine also enjoys vegetarian cooking, spending time with family and friends, supporting community and animal welfare causes and has a love for creative modern design and the arts.

Tanya Lester
Financial Controller
Tanya Lester is an ACCA member with an MSC in Professional Accountancy. As a senior finance professional, she has experience in managing financial, compliance, and reporting aspects at Damianos Sotheby's International Realty. Tanya thoroughly enjoys her position in which she is responsible for the development and oversight of our accounting policies and procedures, implementation of internal accounting control guidelines, leadership to our accounting team, and corporate financial reporting.
Tanya's love for numbers and logic developed while working at a local landscape architecture firm. This passion prompted a 5 1/2 journey of studying and sitting exams, fighting & overcoming, eventually resulting in the accomplishment of her goals. While her studying has ensured a thorough understanding of accounting, her diverse life and work experiences also contribute to her role at Damianos Sotheby's International Realty.
These diverse life experiences have led Tanya to living in different parts of the world, and experiencing different cultures. Added to this is a love of learning, a love of music and art, and a desire to explore the world further, both through travel and reading. But more importantly, Tanya finds immense joy in spending time with her beautiful family and friends.
