DAMIANOS SOTHEBY’S INTERNATIONAL REALTY ANNOUNCES 2019 AGENT CIRCLE OF EXCELLENCE (ACE) RECIPIENTS

NASSAU, The Bahamas (Jan. 20, 2020) — George Damianos, Chief Executive Officer for Damianos Sotheby’s International Realty, and Lana Rademaker, Chief Brokerage Officer, are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2019 Agent Circle of Excellence Award (ACE).

Shane Cash, who focuses predominantly on sales in the Hope Town, Abaco, market earned the title for June 2019 while Jacqueline Lightbourn, who focuses on sales around New Providence, received the ACE award in December.

Launched in 2018, ACE is an internal incentive program that recognizes sales agents who represent the many facets of what it takes to be a successful salesperson.

“While we do factor in sales performance and number of listings when considering our next ACE recipient, we also aim to recognize individuals who consistently embody the cultural tenets of our company,” said Rademaker. “Characteristics such as positivity, team support, ambition, showing an interest in learning and professional development, and community involvement outweigh mere productivity in this particular case.”

And because estate agents are such a huge part of what can be an extremely emotional process for both home buyers and sellers, agents who are in tune with their communities and understand how to nurture long-term relationships are an invaluable asset to their clients.

DAMIANOS SOTHEBY’S INTERNATIONAL REALTY ANNOUNCES TOP LISTING AGENTS FOR 2019

NASSAU, The Bahamas (Jan. 17, 2020) — George Damianos, Chief Executive Officer for Damianos Sotheby’s International Realty, and Lana Rademaker, Chief Brokerage Officer, are pleased to announce the company’s top listing agents for 2019.

Mark Hussey and Bianca Aranha, who work together as Team Hussey, were the company’s overall Top Listing Agents with a total of $56M in property value listed. Mitzi Pearce earned the title of Top Listing Agent in the Abaco market, while Joan Braithwaite and Angelika Bacchus share the title of Top Listing Agents in Eleuthera as Team Bacchus-Braithwaite.

“Last year was a strong year for our agents who operate as teams,” said Rademaker. “The real estate market in The Bahamas continues to get more and more competitive and we’re finding that the team structure is beneficial in terms of being able to cover more ground and offer clients even more personalized attention.”

Hussey and Aranha began working together as a team in 2018, while Bacchus and Braithwaite paired up in January 2019.

“Servicing clients is our top priority,” Braithwaite added. “Working together means that one, if not both, of us is physically present for our clients at all times so we can continue to provide the personalized service we’ve each built our professional reputations on.”

Similarly, Pearce said that nurturing long-term relationships with her clients was key in maintaining a strong foot hold in the Abaco market. Since Hurricane Dorian made landfall in Abaco last September, Pearce has continued to work with clients from her new home base in Nassau.

“I have learned a lot about Nassau in a short amount of time, and I take every opportunity to pass on this new knowledge to clients who are curious about other locations in The Bahamas,” Pearce said. “Plus, I am in constant touch with my network in Abaco so I am always up-to-speed on recovery and rebuilding efforts so I can advise my clients and potential investors accordingly.”

Nick Damianos was the company’s overall Top Producing Sales Agent, breaking a company record for total dollar volume of sales for the 5^th year in a row. Jonathan Morris earned the title of Top Producer in the Eleuthera market while Jane Patterson was awarded Top Producer in Abaco.

“In 2015 Nick shattered our company record for sales volume in a single year,” Rademaker said. “In each consecutive year since then, he has broken his own record. His success is a testament to the hard work and long hours he puts in. Nick’s diligence and knowledge have paid off year after year with his main focus consistently remaining to build lasting relationships with his clients.”

Rademaker added that in addition to recognizing Jane Patterson as Top Producer in Abaco for her sales achievements, she is proud of the entire Abaco sales team, considering all that they have been through both personally and professionally in the wake of Hurricane Dorian.

As Abaco continues to focus on recovery and restoration for the foreseeable future, a considerable number of buyers are exploring the Eleuthera market for their second home purchases.

DEMOGRAPHICS

The Bahamas is a chain of 700 islands and cays, approximately 30 of which are inhabited. The population is estimated to be slightly more than 300,000 people, most of whom reside on New Providence, Grand Bahama, Abaco and Eleuthera Islands Islands. The Bahamian archipelago begins about 50 miles off the coast of Florida and stretches for 550 miles to the Southeast. The Bahamas is an independent, English-speaking country with an adult literacy rate among the best in the world (95%).

CURRENCY OF THE BAHAMAS

The official currency of the Bahamas is the Bahamian dollar. The Bahamian dollar is equal in value to the U.S. dollar, and the two are used inter-changeably throughout the islands.

THE BAHAMAS GOVERNMENT

The Bahamas has an extremely stable and pro-business Government, with the longest running uninterrupted democracy in the Western Hemisphere (over 280 years). On July 10, 1973, The Bahamas gained its independence from Great Britain and remains a fully democratic nation, governed by its own Parliament and Constitution. The Constitution of the Bahamas proclaims the islands as a sovereign democratic state, sets forth requirements for citizenship and guarantees fundamental human rights. The Bahamas retains its ties with the Commonwealth of Nations (formerly the British Commonwealth) and also retains the British monarch as its figurative head of state.
