Damianos Sotheby’s International Realty a Major Sponsor For 2018 Powerade Potcakeman Triathlon

Going to the Dogs. This year marks the fourth consecutive year that Damianos Sotheby’s International Realty has been a sponsor of The Powerade Potcakeman Triathlon which features a 1k swim, a 30k Bike and a 7k run. Past team members have included Darrin Sands (third from right) and Candis Lakin (far right).

Nassau, The Bahamas (March 12, 2018) — Hundreds of athletes from around The Bahamas will descend upon Nassau to run, swim and bike their way into the record books when the 2018 Powerade Potcakeman Triathlon takes over Clifton Heritage National Park on April 15.

Launched in 2013, the triathlon is an annual fundraiser for Baark, a volunteer organization which focuses on spay/neuter and educational programs aimed toward encouraging responsible pet ownership through presentations at schools, summer camps and community organizations.

“We admire the Baark! organization, not only for their community outreach programs which encourage compassion and respect for animals, but for the sheer fact that everything they do is 100-percent volunteer-based. They don’t receive any government funding whatsoever,” said Lana Rademaker, Vice President with Damianos Sotheby’s International Realty who will be running at this year’s triathlon. “The dedication shown by these volunteers is truly remarkable.”

According to the Baark website, since its inception in 2010 Baark! has provided more than 7,000 free or subsidized spay/neuters of dogs and cats; created interactive education for more than 500 children; and, contributed assistance for pets in nine different family islands—Inagua, Rum Cay, San Salvador, Andros, Abaco, Eleuthera, Long Island, Bimini, and the Berry Islands. Last year’s triathlon, the most successful to date, raised $30,000 toward these services.

“Besides the fact that Baark! so clearly provides such valuable and necessary services for The Bahamas, we love the fact that the triathlon offers us a reason to get outside of the office and contribute to the community as a team,” Rademaker said. “It’s the perfect opportunity to come together with our families and support this extremely worthwhile organization.”

The Sotheby’s International Realty® AR App is Almost Here!

 

We were the first luxury real estate brand to launch on Apple TV. We were the first luxury real estate brand to add 3D and Virtual Reality Tours to our website. And now, we are the first luxury real estate brand to launch an Augmented Reality app.

On Friday, February 23rd, Google announced the official release of ARCore, its AR Software platform, which enables developers to build augmented reality (AR) apps. Following the announcement, the Sotheby’s International Realty® brand joined Google as they appeared at the 2018 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. During the week-long technology exhibition, Google demonstrated a selection of apps built using ARCore to tech industry leaders and the media.

The Sotheby’s International Realty brand worked closely with Google in the run up to ARCore’s release and benefited from worldwide media exposure of this announcement including coverage in CNBC, Engadget, The Verge, and Google’s blog.

The highly anticipated Sotheby’s International Realty brand AR app was built with Google’s ARCore, and, when launched, will bring a home’s virtual stagings from perception to reality, allowing users to visualize a house as their own before purchase, adding a new level of curation to the home-buying experience.

Mark your calendars, the Sotheby’s International Realty brand augmented reality app will be available for download in the Google Play Store on March 20th.

The Rafa Nadal Golf Challenge by Sotheby’s International Realty®
The Sotheby’s International Realty brand recently hosted the Rafa Nadal Golf Challenge in association with Rafa Nadal Sports Center in Manacor, Mallorca, Spain.

The exclusive, first of its kind event, featured teams comprising Sotheby’s International Realty affiliates from around the world, including a team lead by Philip White and another lead by Rafa Nadal. Additional competitors included brokers from the United States, Czech Republic, Moscow, Mallorca and Latvia, who leveraged this global event to network and establish new relationships with Sotheby’s International Realty brand colleagues.
The three-day event took place at Mallorca’s top golf courses, beginning at Pula Golf, continuing onto Golf Son Servera and ending at Golf Son Gual.  Congratulations to team Rafa Nadal, the winner of the tournament. Philip White and team took second place and third place went to team Czech Republic Sotheby’s International Realty and Marketplace Sotheby’s International Realty. All participants were especially thankful for Mallorca Sotheby’s International Realty support of the event and warm welcome to their office in the lively, beautiful city of Palma.

The Rafa Nada Sports Center, located in Manacor, hometown of Rafa Nadal, is a facility that is part of the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar.
